Phoebe Voigts, Artistic Director

Phoebe Voigts, the founding artistic director or the Saskatoon Children's Choir, is an accomplished choral clinican, instructor, and conductor of children's music. Under her direction, the Saskatoon Children's Choir has received numerous awards and recognitions at provincial, national and international levels.

Ms. Voigts received her initial training from the University of Regina Luther College and the University of Saskatchewan; pursuing further studies at the University of Alberta, the University of Manitoba and the Royal College of Church Music in Croydon, England. In 1997 she was a conducting delegate to the International Symposium for Choral Conductors hosted by Jean Ashworth-Bartle, Toronto Children's Chorus.

Phoebe is a music specialist with the Saskatoon Public School Division, and occasionally teaches summer sessions at the University of Saskatchewan. For many years she performed with the Saskatoon Chamber Singers.

Phoebe is the recipient of the Saskatchewan Music Educators award for outstanding achievement, the YWCA Woman of Distinction in the Arts Award, and the recipient of the Saskatchewan Choral Federation Pro Musica Award in recognition of her exemplary service and contribution to choral music.
