Flying Colours
Flying Colours DVD is an 18-minute performance of a “masque” by Stephen Hatfield, performed and recorded by the Saskatoon Children’s Choir on June 14, 2008 in Regina Knox United Church.
Stephen Hatfield is a Canadian composer, conductor, clinician, workshop leader, and lecturer specializing in choral music. He is known for working “outside the box” and has developed a reputation for his innovative approach to composition and choral techniques.
Flying Colours is theatrical in nature. It is about belonging, exclusion, conflict, intimidation and despair, but mostly it is about fear. The opportunity to be a part of this creative process was a very unique and rewarding experience, which inspired and pushed SCC choristers to significant artistic growth.
